Re: Macintosh 68000 based machines

The main problem is to make the vampire fit physicaly into the mac itself. A mac + i not so big and I doubt that there is enough place upon the motherboard to fit another card on the top of th 68000. I can be wrong, I don't actually seen the layout inside this machine. Are you saying aside from the...

Re: stand alone vampire board

I’ve gone nuclear. Some readers may want to skip right past this post. Also the trend seems to favour vintage Macs (see https://www.google.com/trends/explore?q=Amiga%20500,Macintosh%20Plus ). The only upgrade in the videos is replacing a SCSI drive. That is true because accelerators for older Macs ...

Re: stand alone vampire board

People want to see a 500HP V8 in a Austin Mini that is what makes it fun. And by all accounts, there are quite a few Austin Minis already in a queue with their bonnets propped up waiting for a 500 hp V8. ;) A Macintosh Plus on eBay would cost you ~100 USD. Obviously a Austin Mini and a 500HP V8 req...

Macintosh 68000 based machines

Hi Everyone,

What are the technical challenges in getting the Vampire 500 V2 working in a Macintosh Plus?

Also how does the Vampire 500 V2 differ from the host perspective from a real 68000 processors on other platforms than the Amiga?

Re: stand alone vampire board

I think many people would like to see 68K Macintosh Apollo accelerators. I think that there would be almost no interest in 68K Mac accelerators. 68K Mac production stopped around the same time that Commodore went bankrupt. Apple still produces Macs. Most people interested in 20 to 30 year old Macs ...

Re: stand alone vampire board

Well, the problem is that the ressources of the team are not infinite. We can't go on newer design when the already planed are not finished :-) Currently, MacOS run very well thanks to Fusion and Shapeshifter on Amiga, but maybe in the future there is a possibility to make a new board for these Mac...

Re: stand alone vampire board

I think many people would like to see 68K Macintosh Apollo accelerators. I know for example that there is a big community around the Mac SE/30. But targeting other Macintosh models might be a better idea. This is because the main reason the people are interested in the Mac SE/30 is that it supports ...
