The vampire works with and without the rom in place, it does not care.
What is the OS on your CF?
If it's the same you use with the Furia, maybe you have incompatible software (maprom, library, ...)
Try to boot without the startup-sequence to see if you have the shell prompt.

I bought mine on aliexpress like this on. Check the length you need (I'm not remember). You can search for "DigitalOut cable panel mount" on ebay also.

Yes it's works. It's what I use for many months. You can only use the nuts and bolts without the 3D printed spacer if you want.

If the holes in the spacers is to big you can't use the same screw and you can't put a bigger one because the holes in PCB are not extensible.
You can drill spacers holes and use nuts and bolts M1.6/16mm like bolts and nuts.
You can also print this spacer.

I use both and the result:

I don't think emulating the Vampire capability on WinUAE kill the Vampire. If I want the fastest/capable/compatible Amiga I use WinUAE. But I'm a software developper and I am excited by the new possibility (AMMX) brought by the 68080. I hop more pragrammes use it, but I can't carry my A600 everywher...

I would like to know if implementing the Vampire (mainly the 68080) in UAE (WinUAE) is something planned or in progress?
I ask this beacause I can't carry my A600 with it's Vampire everywere and if I would like to develop specificaly for this board (AMMX instruction) it's more easy.
