The new audio hardware for the Vampire is known as Pamela. It is in development but is expected to provide 8 16bit voices with 6bit volume. Other features include stereo mixing, 24bit mixing precision plus 4-times oversampling. Further discussion http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=7088

The original Vampire 600 board was open sourced and there was a Polish(?) version of it was made. The specifications for the stand alone Vampire are likely to be better than you suggested (newer FPGA and more RAM). Til and BigGun have some history that's not worth going into. BigGun has said that th...

Tablets and/or phones. Issues include support for touch control beyond mouse/pointer control with the existing operating systems and all the other software/firmware required, obtaining parts without buying an off the shelf tablet/phone and swapping out the main board (RF chips/parts for a phone may ...

Replacement motherboards for existing Amiga case(s). The obvious one to start with is the A1200 as new cases are now possible. If cooperation and funding could be found a new lower case molding with sockets openings layout and labels appropriate to a new Vampire board (HDMI, Joysicks, ethernet, barr...

I've always wanted a "modern" Amiga laptop so how about a motherboard for the upcoming Olimex TERES-I Do-It-Yourself Open Source Hardware and Software Laptop https://www.olimex.com/Products/DIY-Laptop/ . I'm not sure if the open source nature of the project would be an issue for the closed source Ap...

A standalone system is very much planned but this will use the Apollo core in an FPGA just as the current accelerators do. I don't know to what degree microcode on Intel CPUs can be modified, it's an interesting idea but could end up being a distraction if the Apollo team themselves were to start lo...

I would think the clock port would be the bottle neck so speed wise there's unlikely to be much difference. Device support will be down to the stack/drivers used.

It's very simple board and I'm sure I read somewhere that it will be made available. kipper2k may still have some left depending on how many he ordered initially. A V500V2 that came up on ebay recently included one so kipper must have supplied it on request.

I see no reason for it not to be available in a year or two providing all the parts remain available at a reasonable cost and somebody has the means and will to produce them. Longer term, who knows, maybe one day there will be an ASIC version or at least an upgraded one as new hardware is developed ...
