I am a demoscene coder interested in the Vampire accelerator.
I have to say I am really impressed with what you guys has accomplished and I am eager to get the upcoming Vampire for A1200!
There is one feature that would make the board very interesting to me for demomaking, and probably for others. I'm pretty sure the 68080 can do the c2p family of algorithms really fast, but as everybody knows we have the chip memory speed bottleneck.
What about implementing a DMA system to copy memory blocks asynchronally from FAST to CHIP?
That way we can implement 50 hz effects using full screen, even HAM6/HAM8 ones. Or going hires 256 colors...
I know many people will prefer to skip AGA completely and going RTG, or using the FPGA AGA replacement wich does not have the bottleneck problem...As for me, I like toying with good old AGA chipset and seeing the results through an ancient Commodore 1084
