Yes, I have a similar problem on my A500 with GVP Impact Series II A500HD+. Not HD+8 >

Here is what I've done to ensure the Vampire and my Amiga500 are playing nice but as soon as I introduce my SCSI controller, nothing works. It's very disappointing because I have read of this not being an issue and haven't found much info on an issue but alas, you and I are indeed having issues. No one has even addressed my SCSI problem yet. Just trying to get my Amiga up on a CF card for now which appears to be working. But it does nothing for my initial complaint.

Well GVP is known to be problematic with other accelerators too. I couldn't make it work on my A2000 with 2030 Turbo accelerator, had to use Evolution SCSI instead, no problems.
I did not try my Vampire 500 yet, but I will in few days so I can let you know if it acts similar way.
My prediction is that Evolution SCSI will work with Vampire and GVP HC8+ even with latest ROM will not.

I'm not sure why this is. My GVP has no RAM expansion and does not use scsi.device so it shouldn't conflict with the onboard ide which uses scsi.device. It's kind of a big bummer but not a deal killer. I have 2 options if there is no way for it to work, 1. Sell it or two get another A500. I'd rather go for number two. But they aren't easy to come by and are a tad expensive for me to want to grab another.

Either way, I'd appreciate knowing your outcome. Thanks.

Hi,

I'm just now trying to setup my 'Vampirised' A2000 and really want to get it working with SCSI if I can.

Is there a page somewhere with what should/shouldn't work in terms of SCSI cards? (and other peripherals?) I'm new to this 'scsi.device' thing (it's a driver right?) what cards do or don't use it?

Fun times!

-M

Probably Vampire not working with GVP SCSI.

I found this site
http://amigax1000.blogspot.com/2016/12/ ... art-1.html

_______
So I pulled apart the Amiga 2000, removing all the cards.

This step is very important because of some things the Vampire does not do, namely it does not autoconfig Fast memory cards on the Zorro II bus.

So you will need to remove any Fast memory Zorro cards and hard disk controller cards that use memory onboard and/or scsi.device, as it conflicts with the onboard IDE port on the Vampire.

___________

I'll try to do it at the evening.

greetings
Arek

A2000 and Vampire working.. .without GVP SCSI :-(

At this moment, I'm trying run VA2000 with VA2000CX graphics card.

Thanks @all for suggestions with GVP.

Maybe, in next firmware of Vampire our The Best of The Best developers :) fix this little incompatible things.

greetings

Confirm the same issue with GVP SCSI impact with no memory expansion. Not a big deal since I will be setting up the compact flash drive this weekend. I will try the Apollo OS image out. I have two Scandisk one 32 and the other 4 gig arriving in the mail Thursday. Hopefully I will have everything up and running on the HDMI output this weekend.

Saluda - I'd really like to get mine working if possible, at the worst case I don't want to give up my SCSI CD-Rom. Best case is I get ti working and can keep my ZIP drive, SCSI2SD storage and my CD-rom. Nightmare case would be giving up the GVP SCSI. But I can soften that blow via ebay I suppose. GVP SCSI controller are going for pretty high prices there, although mine is defect in the way that you cannot at all use the memory expansion so it's just a straight up SCSI controller.

I think I found the issue and have updated my topic here to reflect my findings.

Hi

I have good news. I do upgrade firmware of my Impact Series II A2000-HC+8 and voila.. I can start workbench from SCSI drive with Vampire in A2000! :)

But, of course this is not for this forum - I cannot run my A2000 with Va2000 and Impact Series II A2000-HC+8 card together. :-(

greetings
