Hi all,

Is the Vampire 500 V2 compatible with Amiga CDTV?

There are mechanical and firmware issues with the Vampire 2 in the CDTV. IIRC the board clashes with some capacitors, either these need to be replaced with lower ones or they can be moved to the other side of the motherboard. The extended ROM that provides the CD functionality is not currently supported AFAIK. I don't know if the Vampire 4 fits better (it has holes and cut outs for some motherboard components but I don't know if the CDTV motherboard(s) were included).

One 3300uF 10v capacitor is to high. I have put v500 in my CDTV https://www.ppa.pl/graffiti/obrazek/476 ... -nosferatu . Maybe in next weekend i will make some soldering and put v500 under the CDTV mainboard.

Kipper2k had made Vampire adapter boards for the CDTV. Hopefully someone will produce them in the future.

I don't know if anyone has a custom Kickstart to use the optical drive.

. What adapter board? V500 fits in CDTV CPU socket. But it must be put a little bit higher with precission adapters.

I hope it is going to work fine with Vampire 4.
So if you remove JP15 jumper it works just fine? (without CD drive)

Yes, CDTV in A500 mode works great with V500+.
Vampire v4 will boot from its kickstart, like v2. But I saw video with core 2.7 where guy is mapping diferent kickstarts into vampire. So there is posibility that someone will prepare kick that will work in cdtv mode.
