So I was reading that the apollo team was working on a core update that you allow us to use 2MB of the 128MB on the V2+ as chipmem. Is this a real prject that the apollo team is working on or just wishful thinking? I know I can get a new Fat Agnus chip and then modify a motherboard at a few touch points but I would like to avoid performing surgery on my 30yr old system if at all possible?

The ACA500Plus (and I believe the non plus version) can add the 512KB trapdoor memory to chipram, giving an Amiga 500 1 Meg of chip without any hardware modifications. You still need to have a 1 Meg Agnus of course. So for the Apollo do the same thing is not totally inconceivable but I imagine for 2 megs of chip ram you would need the actual Fat Agnus 8375 Variant. But then I could be underestimating the Apollo's magical abilities.

Thanks for the info. If the ACA500 can do this then I'm sure it can be done with a core update. The vampire 500 v2+ is def the better accelerator of the 2. I'm just going to wait to see before breaking traces and such on my board. I would hate to have to buy an aca500 just to get the chipmem
