I present you a lightweight variation of the CPUMon080 tool,

MiniMon - Last revision: 1.0f.

Code: Select all

;
; Program:      MiniMon
; Short: A discrete AC68080 CPU monitor tool,
; that resides in the Workbench TitleBar.
; Author:       APOLLO-Team, flype
; Type:         util/moni
; Version:      1.0f (Feb. 2017)
; Architecture: m68k-amigaos
; Required:     AmigaOS V36+, AC68080 Core 3515+
; Copyright:    APOLLO-Team 2016-2017.
; Compiler:     Devpac 3.18
; Distribution: Soon on Aminet.
;
The tool installs itself in the Workbench Title Bar, at top right of the screen :

Features :

It features realtime MIPS jauge, can display core Frequency and Multiplier.

Also it gives a view on some of the AC68080 special bits :

Turtle mode (+/-T label),
BlitSync mode (+/-B label),
SuperScalar mode (+/-S label).

Additionally, the program install a dedicated sub-menu in the Workbench Tools Menu, to control it.

Beta-testing feedbacks :

Known issues

- Positioning not optimal depending on the user screen fonts preference (sys:prefs/fonts => screen font). Will be fixed.

- The colormap is not reallocated when the screen resolution is changed (sys:prefs/screenmode). Will be fixed.

Welcomed ideas

- Use ToolTypes to configure the display and positioning.

Feel free to report feedback, ideas are always welcomed.

flype, well done mate for that great tool ! It works perfectly as intented and give a quick overview of current MIPS usage.

Some ideas :
* Add options (tooltype ?) to toggle show of frequency, core speed and enabled modes
* Let user define graph height (tooltype again?)
* Release it on Aminet ! :)

Well done !
Another idea : why not make the text black on white pattern ? The black pattern with white text look like a monochrome Atari
