Hi everybody,

I'm an unlucky user of the V2.1 as it doesn't play with the CF card in my A600. Until now I don't know if the reason is
- the CF Card
- the CF->IDE Adapter
- the cable
- the PSU
- the weather
- ...

The A600 works "perfectly well" with a Furia 020 and the CF card installed. Because of this at the moment I'm using the 68020 card to run the system.

My question: Do I need to pull out the ROM to get the Vampire up and running in the A600? It seems to boot when the ROM is installed without any problems.

I ask as I think I've got 2-3 removals until I'll kill the ROM. => I'd better keep it installed to avoid damage to the IC...

THNX 4 info.

The vampire works with and without the rom in place, it does not care.
What is the OS on your CF?
If it's the same you use with the Furia, maybe you have incompatible software (maprom, library, ...)
Try to boot without the startup-sequence to see if you have the shell prompt.

Thanks for the info.

I've got a problem with the card/card reader/cables. Some time the Card isn't even found when booting up the system. So it isn't possible to create partitions on the card. Some times I get checksum errors when opening the tool.

I've tried several CF cards. Next step will be to swap cable and card reader.

I hope that I will find a combination of card and reader that will work...
